Cory Falter - Partner, Lure Agency
Most people in hospitality still think LinkedIn is just a place to post resumes or job openings.
They’re wrong.
In this episode of The 60 Second Podcast, Cory Falter - Partner at Lure Agency and a leading voice in Hospitality B2B sales - shares one of the biggest misconceptions in the industry: the misunderstanding of social selling.
Cory explains why hospitality’s obsession with live events has caused teams to overlook the daily power of LinkedIn, how real relationships are built online first, and why the smartest sales teams are learning to move conversations from social to offline with intention.
If you work in hospitality, sales, or B2B marketing, this quick conversation will change how you think about LinkedIn — and how you use it to drive real revenue.

What’s the biggest secret most people don’t know about your industry?
00:05 – Cory Falter
Well, there’s quite a bit in my beloved industry of hospitality. But one in particular would be this: there’s still so much misunderstanding and misconception about what social selling is — and networking online.
My industry is obsessed with live events. For many hotels, we sell meetings, social events, and weddings, so naturally that comes with the territory.

But there’s still this belief that LinkedIn is just a glorified resume catcher. People think you only go there when you’re looking for a job or posting one.
They don’t yet realize the true value of showing up daily and meeting incredible people on the platform.
00:59 – Cory Falter
There’s so much opportunity there. One of the things I’m most passionate about is teaching sales teams how to engage every day on LinkedIn — how to add value, build real connections, and then move those relationships offline.

That could be a phone call, or meeting at an event where the small talk is already done — and now you can have more strategic conversations.
There’s so much value in social selling, and LinkedIn in particular.
