What does it take to lead when the decisions you make could mean life or death?

In this episode of The 60 Second Podcast, host Matt McCoy sits down with James Garofalo, Army veteran and Co-Founder & CEO of Lokiten Behavioral Health, to explore how military service shaped his approach to leadership, responsibility, and decision-making.

James enlisted in the Army at just 18 years old, leaving for service six weeks after graduating high school. During his 12-month deployment to Iraq, he faced situations that demanded maturity, quick judgment, and accountability far beyond his years.

Now leading a behavioral healthcare organization in Colorado, James reflects on how those early experiences continue to influence his leadership in the civilian world. He also shares his gratitude for the people he served alongside and the lessons that have stayed with him throughout his career.

A powerful reminder that some of life's most valuable leadership lessons come from experiences that challenge us the most.

Tune in to hear how responsibility under pressure can shape a leader for life.
