What is the process of building a business? I think if you want to start a business, the first thing you need to do is recognize a problem. And you have to figure out how to solve that problem. The way we did it with our last company was we had this problem ourselves when we were working in treatment centers and we needed a way to solve it. Nothing existed. So I think the first thing you need to do is recognize a problem and figure out how to solve it. The next thing you need to be doing is going out there and actually talking to people about their problem. And if they've had the same experiences or similar experiences, you've got to gather some information around that and talk a little bit about how you're planning to solve that. And what you're doing is a couple things. You're planting the seed that there is a possible solution on the way, and you're getting people thinking about it. You're also getting them to give you ideas. So that's really the way that I would really frame the beginning. What you also want to do is start out with what we call an MVP, a minimum viable product. You don't want to develop a whole bunch of things and features and functionalities and not be sure if that's actually going to move the needle for your customers. So start out with the bare minimum and then get their feedback to add additional functionalities and features. The last two things I think are really important is customer service. You have a customer, they can be your biggest ally, whether it's advocating for you or giving you feedback that what you're doing is working or not doing. So take care of your customers. They are super important. And the last thing I want to add is your staff. Your staff are your biggest customers, they're your biggest face to your customers. Treat your staff well, listen to them, make sure that they understand that they're valued and they have the voice in your company. I'd like to work in a flat hierarchy where nobody is higher up on the food chain than anybody else. And what ends up happening is people feel empowered to give feedback, make decisions, and get things done. They are the face to your customers. Your customers recognize that they enjoy what they're doing, and it will all snowball from there.
