Host: What's one piece of advice you'd give your 18-year-old self?
Eliza Graves: So one piece of advice. There's lots of advice I would give, but the main piece that sticks out to me is keep learning and keep growing. And what I mean by that is, you know, when we're teenagers, we can't wait to get out of school and we just want to go live our own life and do our own thing and all that kind of stuff.
00:00:21 - 00:00:42
Eliza Graves: And, you know, many, many years later, what I can say is you always have to keep learning and growing and adapting, and that is what will push you to, you know, get out of your comfort zone as you get older and you try new things, and there's so many different ways you can learn. So I love books, but if you're not a book person, there's podcasts.
00:00:42 - 00:01:12
Eliza Graves: And my tip for podcasts is I listen to them all the time. However, I listen to them a little bit sped up. You have to adjust it by who you're listening to. However, I feel as though I can consume a lot more information that way. And then my last piece of that learning and growing would be find a mentor or mentors, that you can talk to, bounce ideas off of, even consume, you know, their books through their social media or websites.
00:01:12 - 00:01:35
Eliza Graves: It doesn't have to be somebody you personally know. It's a bonus if you do personally know them. However, I will say my mentors, and I've had lots of them throughout my life, have truly helped me and guided me and, you know, helped me with different perspectives to look at things differently and see something from a different point of view, and then that has ultimately helped me become who I am and where I am today.
00:01:36 - 00:01:38
Eliza Graves: So that would be my advice for an 18-year-old.
