Question: What's one leadership principle that's led to your success?
Karlene Millwood: Thanks for that. Great question. I always love to talk about leadership because it is the foundation of my business, and one principle that has been instrumental in my success is consistency. I believe every leader should have that as one of their values: consistency. There's a saying that I like to keep in the back of my mind…
00:00:28 - 00:00:54
Karlene Millwood: The way you do anything is the way you do everything. And I believe that is very true. Consistency for me breeds credibility, leads to trust, and reliability. People trust you more. But not everything always goes as planned. I had to learn to persevere through things when they weren't going my way.
00:00:54 - 00:01:17
Karlene Millwood: I believe consistency was key in helping me overcome hurdles. Learning to tune out negative voices, doubts, and setbacks, and just focus on the vision I set for myself. Consistency isn’t just about doing the same thing every day… it’s about staying focused on your goals, mission, and showing up every day with the same passion and dedication you started with.
00:01:17 - 00:01:36
Karlene Millwood: For me, consistency has always worked out. It’s what allows leaders to lead with credibility, create trust, and inspire teams to follow them.
