Alethia O’Hara-Stephenson, Director at RBC, TV Host, Non-Profit Founder
Alethia O’Hara-Stephenson is a force across sectors—from safeguarding one of Canada’s biggest financial institutions to empowering communities through advocacy and media. As Director of Continuity & Disaster Readiness at RBC and Founder of the Dufferin County Canadian Black Association, Alethia shares the leadership principle that powers it all: building a shared vision. Her approach? Align the team, celebrate every win, and turn purpose into progress.
Her perspective will inspire you to rethink how you lead—no matter the setting.
Host: What’s one leadership principle that has led to your success?
Alethia: Amazing question. That one leadership principle for me is sharing a shared vision with my team.
Once I'm able to share a vision that the team is able to buy into and support, then we're able to execute on it.
And that has attributed to not just my success, but our team's success—both in the nonprofit and in the financial space that I operate in.
With sharing that vision, we're celebrating our small wins—no matter how small, no matter how big.
We're celebrating those wins and making sure that we're using that as the momentum to keep us driving forward.
