Host:
What’s one piece of advice you’d give your 18-year-old self?

Swish Goswami:
There’s a few things. This was about nine years ago, but the most important thing I’d probably tell my 18- or 19-year-old self is: don’t sweat the small stuff.

In the grand scheme of life, a lot of problems we feel are existential or grave end up becoming funny memories later — or carry no real weight at all.

I’ve seen this through 19, 20, 21… all the way to 27. I actually have a diary where I wrote down all the things I used to stress about — and now, I look back and think, “That was it? That’s what I was worried about?”

Life is more stressful now, sure — but I’ve learned to manage it better. And the things I used to lose sleep over? They're jokes to me now.

So:
 Don’t sweat the small stuff.
Things usually work out — if you think clearly, surround yourself with the right people, and put in the hard work.
